Spatiotemporal Variations of Landscape Ecological Risks in a Resource-Based City under Transformation

چکیده

The development of traditional resource-based cities requires drastic changes owing to the exhaustion resources. During this transformation, ecological environment is threatened because resource exploitation, in addition risks caused by urban expansion. However, there currently a lack research on evolution dangers during transformational period. Therefore, conducting relevant studies essential establishing mechanism mitigate these dangers. present study analyzed Xuzhou, typical city China, as case study. main objective was consider dynamic land use and transformation city. land-use Xuzhou 2000, 2010, 2020 were analyzed, using Markov model landscape-pattern indices, allowing an risk-assessment be constructed. Additionally, spatial heterogeneity evaluated autocorrelation. results showed that expansion influenced significantly. Owing rapid expansion, area extremely high-risk regions increased significantly 2010. Furthermore, subsidence areas mining had profound impacts region’s ecology, early interventions for restoration are needed prevent further deterioration. Xuzhou’s overall reduced gradually, which conducive its transition into

securitization of mortality risks in life annuities

insurers have in the past few decades faced longevity risks - the risk that annuitants survive more than expected - and therefore need a new approach to manage this new risk. in this dissertation we survey methods that hedge longevity risks. these methods use securitization to manage risk, so using modern financial and insurance pricing models, especially wang transform and actuarial concepts, ...

Elemental Spatiotemporal Variations of Total Suspended Particles in Jeddah City

Elements associated with total suspended particulate matter (TSP) in Jeddah city were determined. Using high-volume samplers, TSP samples were simultaneously collected over a one-year period from seven sampling sites. Samples were analyzed for Al, Ba, Ca, Cu, Mg, Fe, Mn, Zn, Ti, V, Cr, Co, Ni, As, and Sr. Results revealed great dependence of element contents on spatial and temporal variations. ...

Assessing Landscape Ecological Risk in a Mining City: A Case Study in Liaoyuan City, China

Landscape ecological risk assessment can effectively identify key elements for landscape sustainability, which directly improves human wellbeing. However, previous research has tended to apply risk probability, measured by overlaying landscape metrics to evaluate risk, generally lacking a quantitative assessment of loss and uncertainty of risk. This study, taking Liaoyuan City as a case area, e...

Ecological Design of Urban Landscape

Paying attention to the spatial placement of the elements (man-made or natural) based on the landscape pattern and ecological processes in urban design would have a considerable impact on both human and the nature. In a way that the discords in the placement of patchs in respect to each other, or in respect to visual corridors and urban matrixes lead to the unwanted results in the cities. The e...
